Their solar park in western Estonia had low profitability because of falling electricity prices. Operating a standalone solar park was no longer viable, and the connection point was not used efficiently. Revenues per megawatt were minimal.

Solution

Nordess delivered and commissioned a 1 MW / 2 MWh battery system within two months.
The system was integrated for energy arbitrage and participation in day-ahead, intraday, aFRR, and mFRR markets. This allowed the client to fully use its grid connection and energy production.

Results

The battery increased revenue up to ten times compared to PV-only operation.
Payback time was around two years. The system was delivered quickly and is now operating as a profitable hybrid asset.
